Hello! My name is Melissa (she/her), and I am a clinical fellow at Shoreline Counselling. I will soon complete my Master of Arts in counselling psychology from Trinity Western University. I have over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field, supporting those who are neurodiverse (ASD/ADHD) and have developmental disabilities.
My therapeutic approach is warm and empathetic. I believe that we all need a safe space to process our emotions, experiences, relational patterns, and trauma. Through a person-centred and trauma-informed lens, I recognize the profound impact your life experiences have on shaping who you are today. I work to create an environment where discussing all aspects of one’s life is normalized and met with compassion and understanding. I view counselling as a collaborative process, where we work together towards your goals.
Areas of experience and interest include working with those experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, burnout, and faith deconstruction and processing. I also have extensive experience working with those who are neurodiverse or have developmental disabilities.
Your journey is unique and important, and it takes great courage to seek out counselling. I am hopeful that you have taken this step, and I am excited to support you on your path to healing and growth.
